I have fished the past three days with some success. We are averaging around twenty pounds on our best five fish. With numbers around 20 to 30 fish. Spinnerbaits and plastic worms in 5 to 7 foot of water. The fish below was caught on a Strike King Rage Craw in watermelon red.
I had a trip today and I started with great expectations of catching some big ol Falcon Bass..... Went to my gureanteed first spot and did not get bit....Went to number 2 spot and did not get bit.....Now what .... Started hitting all my spots of the previous week and slowly started to get some bites.... Nothing great but at least a bite. A LONG day on the water today with only a 4 pound for big fish and 3 others in the 3 pound class.... Maybe twenty five fish total but not what I wanted the day to be..... No excuses but we had a great weather day early and then the north wind started....Seemed like the fish just didn't want to bite...... My daddy always would say.... Somedays its Chicken and Some days it's Feathers......Till next time......
Falcon Bass are moving into the creeks and backs of coves. I am finding water temps up to 70 degrees with warm weather in the forecast for the next week the fishing is going to bust wide open....
